Bobbejaanland
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Achtbaan was a schwarzkopf wildcat 45 m model coaster. It was the first rollercoaster of the park. It opened in 1976 and was open till 1981. It catched fire and was replaced by a new rollercoaster in 1982: Wervelwind. Achtbaan was painted white with blue track. The ride was pretty standard, as it also could be found on fairs. The location of the ride was on the location of former ride Mambo, somewhere between sledge hammer and the forbidden caves nowadays.
The ride was a success ride for the park, as it was one of the first real rides of the park. After demolishing this ride the park built more and more big rides that were not moveable, this meant the expanding time for the park untill the years 2004. After then the park abruptly stopped growing... resulting in the park nowadays.
