A show with parrots, that is simply what Papegaaienshow was. It opened behind the maze in 1984. And it finally closed in 2002. It was a show with humor, and the parrots could do some funny tricks. However, nowadays many people think that animals should'nt be used in a show in themeparks. (educative shows in zoo's are more different and people still accept that. While entertaining/educative shows in dolphinariums are contentious.) We also think that it's better for the animals to live in the free nature, or in a zoo with a good exhibit without shows to let them do strange kind of tricks. We're happy that Avonturenpark hellendoorn choose the way to get rid of the animal shows.
However, in 2015 the park opened a new Sealion show (the second one since the park exists) and that isn't the right way we wanted to see them go with shows. However, that year also announced that it would be forbidden in The Netherlands, so the park is now 100% animal free. The Parrot show used walking, climbing and flying ara's. Visitors would get to know the kind of parrots and what they can do. But with a funny story line. It is unknown where the animals went to. But we can guess it went to one of the zoo's in The Netherlands.
