De Efteling

Pegasus was the first wooden rollercoaster in the efteling, and also the first one in the Netherlands. It was built in 1991 as an answer to the upcomming Disneyland Paris. It was designed by Dinn coörporation and RCCA Intamin build some parts of this coaster. Pegasus was a small wooden coaster with 2 green trains. there were 5 coaches with place for 4 visitors making a cappacity of 20 people per train, and 40 per ride with 2 trains. Pegasus was not the fastest rollercoaster. With a speed of 55 km per hour it was the slowest rollercoaster of the Efteling. Pegasus was 15 metres high and had a riding time of 1:43
In the station was always music out the 80's. I'm so exited will remember a lot of fans to this rollercoaster. The rollercoaster was never loved by visitors they would just go one time in it, and then they have seen it. The rollercoater was known for a painfull ride, the curves were not banked and it was shaking very hard. The ride had it's beauty side on the layout and lights. In 2007 Pegasus did get a new neighbour. De vliegende hollander. For this new rollercoaster the lake should be layed dry, and get filled again. That was a wrong issue for Pegasus. The wooden construction was standing in the water for 2 years. The ride was getting more shaking, and the construction was not safe enough. Efteling had to decide: repair this coaster for a lot of money, or buy a new wooden rollercoaster that's smoother and more thrilling. The efteling did choose the second option.
in less than 9 months there was a new rollercoaster called Joris en de Draak. Pegasus will be remembered as a shaking beauty.

- Popularity Attraction
This attraction was popular in the summer, but most of the guests were complaining about the comfort.
- Waiting Times
This attraction had waiting times of 30 minutes most of the time, this was not the fast working rollercoaster of the park.
- Theming attraction
This attraction was not themed, it was just a wooden coaster in the woods and over a lake. The signs refers to the flying horse Pegasus.
- Riding Time
The riding time was 1.43.
- Disordering of attraction
Pegasus was most of the time open, but the last years it had some issues due the construction in the water. In his last year pegasus did work for at least 3 weeks, after that it was closed, and it never opened again even not to say goodbye.
