Attractiepark Slagharen is a western themed themepark in the east of The Netherlands, the park was for years the most famous park of The Netherlands, untill De Efteling became more popular. Later Slagharen had to change the park and gave it a western theme. The park is also called the Schwarzkopf museum due the many schwarzkopf rides. However, more and more are being removed out the park.
The park has not been expanding for many years, but since the 2012 season they're upgrading the park and expanding again. The park has a lot of family thrillrides, two rollercoasters and one darkride. The park is probably not the most exiting, and also not very big. But for families the park has a lot of fun. There are some unique rides, and with a good summer day you will have fun in this western themed park.
Attractiepark Slagharen is opened every day during the regular themepark season, during the winter it is closed, but it has some winter-opening times. However, many rides with water, and the rollercoasters can't operate than. The park has a bungalow park where you can stay. The entry fee is € 27,50 but can be lower, the park uses different prices per day, and with some search work you can even go free into the park.
The park is not very big, but it has a variation of rides, to make your day full you have to plan very good, don't take a simple round, maybe do some rides twice a day. And also: Enjoy the theming of the western in the park. Don't be afraid to do a lot of flat rides, because there are not many other options here.

Slagharen was earlier a park built up and owned by a family, later is has been sold to Parque reunidos. The investments stopped and the park was going downwards. Since 2012 the park is upgrading everything, and build new rides. Some good old rides will have to move for that since the park has less space. The future of this park was a little thrilling since it was going very bad, but nowadays it is in better weather, but still it's not very well.
- Popularity park
Attractiepark slagharen is a popular park, but the amount of visitors is lower than it was earlier. The most crowded days are caused by free entry tickets. On normal days the park is not very crowded, a waiting line from 5 to 10 minutes should be normal than.
- Waiting Times (entrance)
The waiting time by the park is mostly 5 minutes, since most people buy their tickets online, on full days it is even possible to wait 15 minutes!
- Theming park
The park is themed to a western village in a middle, the mainstreet. The east part of the park has a little western theme and a jules verne area (new) the west side of the park contains a kiddy themed area, and more western themed rides, however the theming on this side is not very good. The park has some nices rides and theming near the paths. Enjoy the theming, especially with warm weather!
- Visit Time
The visit time is for the most people a little longer than a half day, however, with doing rides you like twice it is possible to get your day full. The park is not close enough to an other park to combine it with an other park. The park can easily done when arriving a little late, when visiting the park at 12 o' clock you can do almost everything in the park.
- Disordering of attractions
The most rides are working very well they won't have problems because they're all proved rides.
