Tornado is the only coaster with inversion in Avonturenpark Hellendoorn. It is built in 1990 by Vekoma. A dutch coaster builder, and the biggest of the world. It is one of the older models. Tornado is also the highest ride of the park. Since Hellendoorn may not built any higher due the village near it, it is the best way to give thrills.

The ride is also the most worst themed ride of the park. There is really no theming here. It is located in a green area with a lot of trees. But in the middle is nothing growing. The track is yellow and the supports are green. The ride starts with a lifthill, then you go 25 metres down, trough a looping, trough a corkscrew and back to the brakes over a rail of 460 metres long. The topspeed of tornado is 60 kilometres per hour!

Did you know:
That tornado is the only Vekoma inversion coaster in the netherlands that still uses the oldest possible cars? The Python in the Efteling already changed the cars 3 times. And Xpress in Walibi Holland never used the old cars, but used the 2nd generation trains. The model trains of Tornado are exactly the same as the old Arrow coaster trains. Want to ride a classic rollercoaster? Try Tornado!
