''Nothing or nobody, will stop me from sailing tomorrow with my ship Den hollander'' The captain, Willen van der Decken will sail with easter. That is against the rules, and it was gonna be a stormy day. On his trip, he turned into a ghost ship, that will sail forever. In this watercoater you will meet his burning ship. And he tries to curse you to. The waiting line tells you a part of the story, and it is themed to the time of the Flying Dutchman.



''De Vliegende Hollander'' is dutch for Flying Dutchman. This coaster starts with a walktrough, that is the themed waiting area. In this building, you will hear different kinds of music. They are mystic, happy and dark. Then you step in the boat, it goes for a small part in a darkride. You will meet the burning ship in this part. On the lifthill, Willem van der Decken tries to curse you. And then you get a small part rollercoaster, which ends in a water splash. This whole attraction costed 22 million euros.



 Did you know:
Kumbak, the builder of this ride, had some problems, they said they could solve the problems, but that was not with the price they decided. Intamin, who built more succesfully rides for the efteling has solved the problem for this attraction. But De vliegende hollander still has many problems. The darkride inside is to less for the price it costed. It is clear that this attraction failed by everyone with what they expected, even for the Efteling self. Because it is the only watercoaster in the netherlands it is still popular.

- Popularity Attraction
De vliegende hollander is the most popular attraction in the park. It is a watecoaster, the building is beautiful and the ride is hilaric. But many people expect more of this coaster. But everytime they step in as well. The ride is good, but the theming is just strange. Very nice building and waiting line, almost totally black ride inside.


- Waiting Times
Most of the time over the 50 minutes, in the colder periods waiting lines of 5 minutes are possible.

- Theming attraction
Ghost ships, old town, barrels barrels barrels, and many other objects. The building and waiting line is perfect.
The darkride is to dark. The first scene, and the ship-scene are the best. This ride is hard to give a rating. But due the perfect building, we have to give it at least a 7 star rating.


- Riding Time
The riding time is 4.40, The efteling promised in 2007 that the riding time would be 7 minutes, but that is it not. We think that that was inclusive waiting in your boat to start the ride.

- Disordering of attraction
This attraction has many times problems. Don't worrie if it is closed, most of the time it will open later that day. In the winter it is closed because of the ice. When it is stabile, it will work fine.
It's almost everyday open, but we can't tell for howlong.
