Openluchttheater is an outdoor show location that has been opened in the 1998 season in the fairytale area. About that area you can find more information by the ride Sprookjesbos. The show has been changed many times. There was a show about a leader of the birds called Mongo Mongo. There have been shows about the fairytales, and the figures in the ride Sprookjesbos. The latest years there are shows about Sprookjesboom. A Television serie for kids, the tree of that is also in the ride Sprookjesbos integrated.
The shows are mostly about 20 minutes, and the shows are different trough the years. The show with the figures as shown above is the most recent one. The ride is fully outdoor, and has no waiting area. The ride will be open a few minutes before the show, and has a lot of space for visitors to sit. The theatre is mainly built between bushes, hedges and trees, so you will see a lot of green around you. At the background you can see sometimes the building of a few fairytales behind this ride. Like the Indische waterlelies and Meisje met de zwavelstokjes. These 2 buildings are connected and also have a room for the actors to change their clothes.

- Popularity Attraction
The ride was very popular when it was new, later the ride popularity get less and less. But with the new success of Sprookjesboom the ride is back with its popularity. The ride has some problems with it's location. On the left of the ride is the entrance of the fairytale ''Indische waterlelies'' While on the right of this ride is the exit of the fairytale ''Indische waterlelies'' So many visitors will miss the show. You have to walk a little back for the show.
- Waiting Times
There are no waiting times for Openluchttheater, you can walk in when the ride is open.
- Theming attraction
The ride has not really a decor for it, but is located in a green paradise. However, we think that the efteling can do much better. But the ride was built as an infill ride, and will probably make room for something else later.
- Riding Time
The riding time is mostly about 20 to 25 minutes.
- Disordering of attraction
The ride is always open, even in the winter. Only very bad weather (hard rainstorms, snowstorms or thunder with wind) will cancel the show. There are back-up shows on indoor locations. Ask for the actual indoor locations.
