This is the area where the park started with. in 1952 it had 10 fairytales. Now it are almost 30 fairytales. You can meet here the 7 goats, cinderella, snowwhite, the dwarves and much more. The whole area is in a forest. the translation of sprookjesbos is fairytale forest. And the theming is very beautiful. Most of the fairytales are in small houses where you can see the story about the fairy tale. The newest fairy tale is Pinocchio. When starting the ride from the official entrance you will see the fairytales in the following order:

Sleeping beauty, The gnome village, The six servants, Little red riding hood, Pinoccio, The red shoes, The troll king, The naughty princess, Rapunzel, The little mermaid, The dragon, The wolf and the seven kids, Hansel and Gretel, Mother holle, wee walter messenger, Donkey liftt your tail (2 parts), Snow white (2 parts), Guineveres bridal gown, Cinderella, The frog prince, The magic clock, The indian water lillies, Tom thumb, Rumpelstiltskin, The little match girl, The emperors new clothes, Fairytale tree , The gardener and the fakir, The Chinese nightingale.



Since 2009 is there a tree in the forest that can talk. His name is Sprookjesboom. It is a very interactive tree. But he guess sometimes your name wrong. He tells stories about the people in the forest. Like: the dragon meets the witch, and they try to capture the wolf. Younger children would love it. If they speak dutch. Efteling keeps building for new fairytales, We didn't had all stories!

Did you know:
The oldest building in the park is the castle of sleeping beauty. It is actually technical seen not the oldest building. But this one was first built. After some years they had to rebuilt it, but the outside is almost exactly the same. They added only some new rooms to the castle.

- Popularity Attraction
This is a very popular attraction, it could be sometimes very annoying when it is overcrowded. The best way to enjoy this part of the park is to watch all fairytales, and walk together with the other guests.


- Waiting Times
There are no waiting times for this. Some fairytales have a storie that starts every 5 minutes, you have to wait sometimes before it begin. Other fairytales are full time on, and other you can activate by yourself.

- Theming attraction
This attraction is themed very nicely, you see the houses, the landscaping around it. And the trees makes you believe that you are in a real fairytale area.


- Riding Time
There is no ridingtime here. To see everything totally we think you need 1.5 to 2 hours. But you can walk trough it in 15 minutes when looking to a few fairytales.

- Disordering of attraction
This attraction is always open, never closed for disordering. Sometimes one, or more fairytales are closed for maintenace.
