Backstroke is the biggest themed ride in the Magic Forest area, the track is for a big part themed in the rocks in the inside of the building. Later in the ride, you will travel outside the building, (lifthill also themed) and stop inside a big tree. There you will make a big splash, and the theming is all gone, after a short ride outdoor in the sun, you will turn back to the themed part inside the building. The ride came into the news when people were hurt in the ride when a boat fly out of the track after the big drop. This resulted in a long closed ride for Toverland. The problem was the lack of water that didn't break the speed of the boat enough. Toverland changed the rules for the operators so the ride is safe again.



Backstroke is a log flume ride built by Mack in 2004. The ride was long time known as one of the best log flumes of The Netherlands, With at least one backwards drop, and one steep drop from 15 meter, 3 turntables, and a long track lenght, the ride is absolutely one of the better log flumes. However most of the log flumes in The netherlands are pretty good themed, this one has the best theming in the inside of the building. It is a pity that the outdoor part is not themed that much, it could make this ride more perfect.

- Popularity Attraction
This ride is very popular, because it is a good log flume with thrill, and it was long the only big waterride of the park, Now with Jengu River the ride will be less popular than before, or maybe not with that many extra visitors?

- Waiting Times
The waiting times are most of the time about 10 minutes, but can walk easily up to 15 or even 20. Don't let that hold you back to ride it, because the ride has many disorderings.

- Theming attraction
The ride is pretty good themed, the rocks and the head are nicely done, and the tree is also a good part of theming, However the ride could be more fascinating with a good theming outdoor, there are not plants and trees around the track, and no rocks outside the building. With retheming that it could easily get the 9 or even 10 star rating.


- Riding Time
The riding time is 3 minutes and 50 seconds.

- Disordering of attraction
This ride has much problems with its disordering. The ride is brokendown many times, resulting sometimes in not opening a day, or very late. But they try always very hard to keep it working, and with succes!
