    General Information
De Efteling is the most famous park of The Netherlands. It is mostly seen as the biggest park, but it has not the most rides. (unless you will count all fairy tales as a separate ride) The park is one of the better parks in europe (it is now in the top 3 parks of europe (when you count disney & disney studios as one park) De Efteling has a bunch of rides for family, a few darkrides from high quality, and some rollercoasters wich are not the biggest, but are truly fun.

The park has built some unique rides troughout the years, Pagode is one of the less seen observation towers, Joris en de Draak one of the few racing wooden rollercoasters, and De vliegende Hollander is a unique Water coaster. Even Droomvlucht uses a special system for it's ride, and many other rides were first of it's kind (think about Villa Volta or Gondoletta) The latest expandings of the park are meant to receive more visitors, Aquanura is a big water show which will allow guests to stay longer, and with the new rollercoaster ''Baron 1898'' The park will bring more thrill into The Netherlands.

The Efteling is everyday of the year open, The prices change throughout the year, during the event ''Negen pleinen festijn'' the price is expensiver than when you visit the park in the winter or spring. The park allows you 3 different kind of tickets for your visit to the park.
    - Normal visit will cost 35 euros
    - Ticket extra will cost 45 euros
    - Ticket luxe will cost 65 euros

Every ticket has it own profits, you can get some extra food, or even visit the park 30 minutes earlier. However, you will pay these extras, when you do these thing during your visit you will spend atleast the same money, but not at the entrance. The 30 minutes extra park time should not be needed, so you will be fine with the 35 euros ticket.

The park is very big, so don't plan your visit with going from left to right and back to left of the park. Make one big round, and do everything you will see. That is the only possible way to see every ride. You can plan on which part you want to start your visit. We think you can better start with the area ''Ruigrijk'' with all the coasters, since these waiting lines will be very long later.

     Did you know:
Theming is a big part of the succes of this park, but many rides have a (dutch) story, making it a little weird about what the ride is. Don't let this be a problem for you, enjoy the great theming, and when you don't know the story, just read the signs in the waiting lines, or look at the rides at this site. Rides with a big story-problem for outsiders are: Villa Volta, Vliegende Hollander.

    - Popularity park
De efteling is a very popular park, waiting lines of 90 minutes for the coasters and darkride are pretty normal in the summer period, however outside this period mostle the rides have a maximum waiting line of 20 minutes. The park gets the most visits from The Netherlands, and not from outside, because of the very dutch stories, but the park is also pleasurable without the stories.

    - Waiting Times (entrance)
There are most of the time no waiting times for the entrance of the park, only between 10 and 12 o' clock there is a waiting time for the entrance, this should take probably 10 minutes. The ticket boots shouldn't have a waiting time longer than 5 minutes, since most of the visitors will buy a ticket online!

    - Theming park
The park is themed to stories, legends and fairytales. There are no real themed areas, since every ride has its own theme. However there are some little connections in the park, Het sprookjesbos is a fairytale area. Volk van Laaf is a themed area with some rides. Anton pieck plein has some carrousels in the same theme, and Ruigrijk Only contains very rough rides (Ruikrijk is dutch for Rougharea) The park is for a big part very green and located in a forest. However, the last years more and more green has been removed to make place for rides. Every new ride has a new green plan for the nature, but it takes a lot of time before it grows.

    - Visit Time
The visit time depends on the kind of rides you want to do. A thrillseeker won't find his rides in this park. A family can stay a whole day, and people with little children, or people who loves a themed park but are scared for some rides, should have enough for half an day. The park is not easy to combine with other parks. One day should be enough for most, but it is possible to do the park 2 days.

    - Disordering of attractions
The most rides are working very well, because of the parks opening times a ride will be closed for repair and maintainace through the year, you can find that on the website. Rides with a lot of problems are: De vliegende hollander, Pagode.
